  • John eastland

    John grew up in Tyler attending Glenwood Church of Christ and schools at Woods, Hubbard and Lee. He attended Harding University where he lettered four years on the swim team, was a member of the A Cappella Chorus and led groups for International Campaigns for Christ, focusing in Germany. He majored in Accounting and Marketing. Harding is also where he met his angel-wife of 39 years, Trish, who was a missionary’s daughter and was also in the Chorus. After Harding, he attended law school in Houston. He and Trish returned to Tyler in August of 1984 with a one-month old daughter, Kristen, and placed membership at Shiloh. He served one year as briefing attorney for the 12th Court of Appeals, before opening his practice of law. Their son, Spencer, was born in August 1987. At Shiloh, John was a deacon and has been involved in teaching, missions, and the youth group. He was installed as an elder in December 2009. John says, “I love and support our Shiloh family. We are a refuge of God’s faith, love, mercy and grace. We live for exalting Christ, encouraging each other and engaging our neighbors. May all we do be to God’s exaltation.”

  • Don Faubus

    Don was born in Waco, Texas to godly parents Overton and Sybil Faubus. He moved to Abilene at the age of 6 years when his dad began teaching at Abilene Christian College. He lived there and attended ACC for three years, then transferred to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating in 1971, he began his practice in North Dallas and started dating Pam while they were both attending Preston Road Church of Christ. They have been married over forty years and have three children: Kelli, Chad, and Todd. They also have eleven grandchildren. They moved to Tyler in 1977 and began searching for a new Church home. They found Shiloh Road which was meeting in a shopping strip mall, and this has been their church family ever since. In 1978, Don started the Chandler Veterinary Clinic and practiced there for thirty-five years. He was a Deacon for eighteen years and and has been an Elder since 2000.

  • leonard kent

    Leonard was born in Brady, TX but grew up on a farm and ranch near Eldorado, TX in Schleicher County. He earned a science degree from Texas A&M University and served in the Army as a biochemist. He also received a Masters Degree in biology and taught advanced high school classes for several years. The next 30 years were spent serving public schools in the capacity of an administrator; eleven years as high school principal, and nineteen years as a superintendent. Leonard married his wife Myra in 1972, and they have two children, Katherine and James, as well as one grandson, Cash. They moved to Tyler in 2005, established a rental business and became members of the Shiloh Road family. He has served other church families as a deacon and an elder. He has been an elder at Shiloh since 2009.

  • david litton

    David was born in Hillsboro, Texas, but spent his growing up years in Waco. He graduated from Abilene Christian College with a BBA, then two years later he graduated from Abilene Christian University with an MBA. He and Diane married in May of 1977 and placed membership with the Shiloh Road Church later that summer. They have been at Shiloh ever since. They have 3 married daughters who have blessed them with 7 grandchildren. He has been in banking throughout his career and currently works for Citizens National Bank in Henderson. He has had the privilege of serving as an Involvement Minister, a deacon and currently as an elder of the Shiloh family (since 2000).

  • Ron Shultz

    Ron was the last of four boys born to wonderful Christian parents in Topeka, Kansas. He moved to Texas to attend Abilene Christian College where he met and subsequently married his wife, Gwynn, in 1965, and graduated in 1966. He served in the U.S. Air Force and is retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company/AT&T. He, Gwynn, and their two sons, Jared and Jeremy, moved to Tyler in 1987, and they placed their membership with Shiloh at that time where he has been blessed to serve as a deacon and previously as an elder from 1993 – 2009. He began serving as an elder again in 2017. In 2000, he completed the course curriculum for The Certificate in Ministerial Counseling from ACU’s Marriage and Family Institute, and he is passionate about Christian marriages and families. He and Gwynn have been blessed with four precious grandchildren.       

  • Dwight sowle

    Dwight was born in Barnsville, Ohio to godly Christian parents. He moved to Paris, Texas at the age of 7 when his dad was transferred by the company he worked for. He grew up there and attended Abilene Christian College receiving a BS degree in accounting and a minor in Bible. He also has a few hours of graduate study in Bible from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dwight met his wife Billie Sue at ACC where she, too, attended. They have been married 50 years and have two sons, Chris and Cameron. They moved to Tyler in 1997 after retiring from 32 years of youth and family ministry. In addition, Dwight has served other church families as deacon, treasurer, Bible School coordinator, involvement minister, seniors minister, and worship leader. He and Billie Sue came to Shiloh Road in 2014 and Dwight became an elder in 2017. His hobbies include singing and collecting coins, $2 bills, and eagles; He and Billie Sue love birds and have a parrot named Snickers.

  • harry vanscoder

    Harry was born in Milburn, Oklahoma and grew up in Washita with four brothers and four sisters. He joined the US Air Force in 1971 and studied Ground to Air Electronics. He became an Air Traffic Control Technician at Tinker AFB soon after. Harry studied at the United Electronics Institute in Oklahoma and retired from Schlumberger in 2010. Harry and his wife, Pam, were married in 1972 and they have two sons and four grandchildren. Harry enjoys working with Christian Youth Camps and teaching youth Bible classes, as well as building new homes for Habitat for Humanity. His hobbies include repairing antique clocks, growing flower gardens, and making small objects out of natural stone. Harry has been at Shiloh for almost 8 years and became an elder in 2017. 

  • mike warner

    Mike graduated from Robert E. Lee High School here in Tyler and received an A.A. Degree from Tyler Junior College and a B.S. Degree in Biblical Studies from Abilene Christian University. He is married to Barbara Warner, a retired nurse, and they have three grown children, Ginger, Suzy and Scott, as well as 8 grandchildren. Mike has been preaching since 1961, but he retired in 2005 from Shiloh Road after 28 years. His hobbies include being a private pilot, hunting, and playing racquetball. He has served as an elder at Shiloh Road since 2009.
