Sisters in service (sis)

Sisters in Service is a group of women who are dedicated to sharing the love of Christ through handmade blankets, clothing items, teddy bears, and more! This group meets Thursdays 9 am - 12 pm in Room 104. Do you have a heart to serve and a desire to knit, crochet, sew, or even tie? Come join us!

SIS has had the privilege of partnering with or serving the following groups:

  • Healing Hands International
  • Women's Crisis Center
  • American Heart Association
  • Watkins-Logan Veterans Home
  • Local fire departments
  • Local hospitals
  • Local shut-ins
  • Homeless community

SIS has plans to expand their reach with a growing list of proposed projects.

project highlights

This year SIS was asked to be a part of a luncheon put on by Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital for Heart Awareness Month.  In addition, we were honored to have a booth at their Women With Heart Fashion Show to display our Little Red Hats that we make and donate to the hospital each February in conjunction with The American Heart Association.

In 2017, Shiloh Road Church of Christ donated 375 knitted hats to the Maternity and Nursery Units of Christus Mother Frances Hospital and East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, TX. Through this special project, we were able to meet many new people and spread the light of Christ to newborns and their families.
